What FixMeBot does with the text you send it, what little we hold about your account, and what is set in your browser.
Applies to the browser extension, the Telegram chatbot and fixmebot.com
The short version
- 01 Your text is not kept. It is sent over an encrypted connection, processed to produce the result you asked for, and not retained beyond that. It is never sold, and it is never used to train our models.
- 02 We hold almost no identity. An email address from your Google sign-in, or a Telegram user ID. That is the account.
- 03 Your card never reaches us. Payment happens on the payment processor's surface. We see that a subscription is active, not your card number.
- 04 No cookie is set until you accept one. The only cookies this site can set are analytics cookies, and the banner writes nothing until you press Accept.
- 05 One address for everything. Questions, copies, corrections and deletions all go to contact@fixmebot.com.
That summary is here because most people will not read the rest. The numbered sections below are the ones that count, and if the two ever disagree, the sections win.
1. Who this policy is from
FixMeBot is operated by [Legal entity], registered at [Company address] ("we", "us").
[Legal entity] is the controller of the personal data described here.
This policy covers three things and nothing else:
- the FixMeBot browser extension, distributed through the Chrome Web Store;
- the FixMeBot Telegram chatbot;
- this website, fixmebot.com.
Telegram itself, Google, and any website you happen to use the extension on have their own privacy policies. We do not control those and this document does not speak for them.
2. What we collect
Text and audio you submit
Whatever you select, type, forward or record for one of the tools to work on. This is the only content data FixMeBot handles, and section 3 sets out exactly what happens to it.
Account identifiers
In the browser extension: the email address and account identifier your Google sign-in returns. In the Telegram chatbot: your Telegram user ID, and the username or display name Telegram sends with a message. We do not ask for a name, a phone number, an address or a date of birth, and there is no password, because sign-in is delegated to Google and Telegram.
Subscription and usage records
Which plan you are on, the billing period, and how much of your character allowance you have used. Because the cheaper plans meter some tools individually, that record includes which tool a request used and how many characters it carried. We store the count, not the text.
Payment records
Confirmation from the payment processor that a payment succeeded, the plan it was for, and an invoice reference. Card numbers are not among them; see section 5.
Technical data
A request cannot reach you without an IP address, and the service cannot stay up without knowing that a request
was made. We use that technical data to deliver responses, enforce the per-request limits
(15,000 characters in the extension, 4,096 in
Telegram), stop abuse, and diagnose faults.
Website analytics
Only if you accept them on the banner. See section 4.
3. What happens to the text you send
Text you submit is transmitted over encrypted connections, processed to produce the result you asked for, and not retained beyond what delivering that result requires. It is not sold, not shared with advertisers or data brokers, and not used to train FixMeBot's own models.
Producing that result requires sending your text to the AI model providers we use
([AI model providers]). Those providers act as processors on our instructions: they receive the
text, return the result, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes or to train their models on it.
A voice message sent to the Telegram chatbot is transcribed and then handled exactly like text. The audio is processed to produce the transcript and is not retained afterwards.
Two practical consequences worth stating plainly. First, because the text is not stored, we cannot recover a correction for you later. If you need the result, keep it. Second, you should still not paste credentials, card numbers or anything you are contractually forbidden from sharing into any AI tool, including this one.
4. Cookies and analytics
Nothing is set for analytics until you press Accept on the cookie banner. That is not a policy statement about intent; it is how the banner is built. The analytics script is not loaded at all until consent exists.
- Your consent choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key
fmb-consent. It is a preference, it is not a cookie, it is not sent anywhere, and it exists so the banner does not ask you the same question on every page. - If you accept, Google Analytics 4 loads and sets its own first-party cookies (names beginning
_ga) to count visits and see which pages are read. IP anonymisation is switched on. - If you reject, or accept and then change your mind, those analytics cookies are deleted and nothing further is loaded.
- There are no advertising cookies on this site, no ad network, no remarketing pixel and no cross-site tracker.
The browser extension and the Telegram chatbot do not use website analytics at all. Analytics applies to fixmebot.com only.
5. Payments
Payments are handled by [Payment processor]. Your card details are entered on their surface, are
processed by them, and never reach FixMeBot's servers. We could not disclose them because we do not have them.
What we hold is the outcome: which plan is active, when the period ends, and a reference we can use to find the
transaction if you write to us about a charge. [Payment processor] processes payment data as its own
controller under its own privacy policy, which you should read if you want the detail of what it retains.
6. Who else touches your data
The complete list, and what each one is for:
-
[AI model providers]receive the text or audio you submit in order to produce the result, and nothing else. -
[Payment processor]takes payment and holds the card data we never see. - Google provides sign-in for the browser extension, and, if you accepted, the analytics on this website.
- Telegram carries every message between you and the chatbot, and is the identity provider on that side. Messages to a bot are not covered by Telegram's secret-chat encryption.
- Cloudflare serves this website and its assets.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Data may be processed
outside the country you live in, because these providers operate internationally; the transfer safeguards that
apply depend on [Jurisdiction].
7. How long things are kept
- Text and audio you submit are not retained after the result is delivered.
- Account and subscription records are kept while your account exists, and afterwards only for as
long as tax and accounting rules in
[Jurisdiction]require the invoice record to be held. - Usage counters are kept for the billing period they belong to, because that is what the allowance is measured against.
- Analytics data is kept for the retention window configured in the analytics property.
Ask us to delete your account and we delete it, subject only to records we are legally required to keep. Email contact@fixmebot.com.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, data-protection law may give you the right to ask for a copy of what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to take it elsewhere in a portable form, to object to a particular use, or to withdraw a consent you previously gave. Withdrawing analytics consent needs no email at all: reject on the banner and the cookies are removed.
For anything else, write to contact@fixmebot.com from the address on your
account, or from Telegram tell us the account you are writing about. We will answer within the period the
applicable law allows. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you may be entitled to complain to the
supervisory authority in [Jurisdiction].
9. Security
Traffic between you, FixMeBot and the model providers runs over encrypted connections. Access to account and subscription records is limited to the people who need it to run the service and answer support.
The strongest thing we can say about security here is structural rather than procedural: FixMeBot never holds a password of yours, because sign-in is delegated to Google and to Telegram, and it does not retain the text you send. There is no password store to breach and no archive of your writing to leak.
10. Age
FixMeBot is not directed at children. You must be at least [Minimum age] to create an account. If
you believe a child has used FixMeBot and given us data, write to
contact@fixmebot.com and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes materially, the date at the top of the page changes with it, and the change is described in the paragraph it affects rather than buried in a diff. Continuing to use FixMeBot after a change means the updated policy applies to you.
12. Contact
Write to contact@fixmebot.com, or use the
contact page. The postal address for
[Legal entity] is [Company address].
Terms covering what you may use FixMeBot for, and what happens with billing, are in the Terms of Service.
