It works from the questions, the request and the times in that message, so the draft resolves them rather than writing about the topic.
Answering a message is a different job from writing text
The output has to close what somebody else's sentence opened. Four things have to come out of the incoming message:
- The explicit questions. Every question mark needs a corresponding sentence in the answer. Two questions answered with one paragraph is how threads get long.
- The implicit ask. “I still have not seen the file” is a request, not an observation.
- The times and dates. A proposed slot must be accepted, refused, or replaced with another one. A reply that ignores the time restarts the conversation.
- The sender's register and length. A one-line chat message answered with three formal paragraphs reads as a mismatch; the draft mirrors what it was sent.
The example at the top of this page is one question, one time and one implied constraint; the reply refuses the time and offers a replacement, the shape that ends an exchange rather than extending it.
Decide the answer; let it write the sentence
The register is FixMeBot's job. The decision is yours, and it is the only part of a reply that cannot be generated from the message.
Once you have decided, the shapes are predictable. A decline has three parts: the thanks, the no in one unmistakable sentence, and an alternative. Drop the alternative and it reads as a door closing. Soften the no and you have written a maybe that comes back next week. An acceptance confirms the specifics back (“Tuesday at 14:00, I will send the invite”); a request for more time names the new date; a clarifying question asks one thing.

Thursday is tight for the full deck. I can send the three slides you need for the client call by Thursday morning and the complete version on Monday, so tell me which you would rather have.
It only sees what you give it
FixMeBot works on a selection: the text you highlight is the text it receives. That is a privacy property and a limitation at once: the draft cannot draw on earlier messages unless you select them too, and it has no view of your inbox, your calendar or your other tabs.
So anything the answer needs that is not in the selected message has to come from you: the real deadline, the actual price, the true reason. Leave it out and the draft fills the gap with something plausible, and a reply that invents a delivery date is worse than none.
Where a draft is worth the most
- A support queue where the same six questions arrive all week. The tenth answer is where the wording slips, not the first.
- An inbox opened at 11pm, when judgement about tone is at its worst.
- Declining in a second language, where the polite formula from your own language arrives cold or servile. That is a register problem, not a grammar one.
- The message you have been avoiding for three days. Starting is the entire cost, and a draft removes it.
If the reply has to cross a language, write it in yours and run Translation on the result. The register you chose is carried over.

How to reply to a message with FixMeBot
Both platforms do the same thing in the same order.

Select the message you were sent
Highlight the incoming message wherever you read it, or forward it to the Telegram chatbot.

Choose the register, and add the decision
Add the one thing the message cannot tell it, in a word or two: whether this is a yes, a no, a new date or a question back, as in “decline, offer Monday instead”.

Edit the draft, then send it
The draft goes into the reply box you already had open, or comes back as a Telegram message; check it for anything it committed you to: a date, a price, a promise.
Does FixMeBot read my inbox?
No. It receives only the text you select in the browser or send to the Telegram bot, and never the rest of the thread, the other messages in the folder or the page around your selection. If the reply needs context from an earlier message, select that message too.
Can I tell it what the reply should say?
Yes, and you should: the decision is the one part that cannot be derived from the incoming message. Add it as a short instruction like “accept, but Thursday not Tuesday” or “decline politely, no alternative”, or write it out in full in Magic Mode.
What register can the reply take?
Anything from a one-line acknowledgement to a formal written answer, and by default it mirrors the message it is answering. A short chat message gets a short reply back, because a three-paragraph answer to one line is itself a register mistake.
Does it work for messages in other languages?
Yes, in all 90+ supported languages, and it answers in the language the message was written in. That is the case it earns its keep in: replying to a customer in their own language, in the register their language actually uses for it.
