Terms of Service

The short version

The numbered sections below are the agreement. Using FixMeBot means you accept them; if you do not, do not install the extension and do not start the bot.

1. Who you are contracting with

FixMeBot is provided by [Legal entity], registered at [Company address] ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between [Legal entity] and you.

They apply to the browser extension distributed through the Chrome Web Store, to the Telegram chatbot at @fixmebot, and to fixmebot.com. How your data is handled is a separate document: the Privacy Policy.

2. What FixMeBot is

FixMeBot is an AI writing assistant. It takes text you already have and returns a changed version of it: corrected, rephrased, translated, shortened, lengthened, answered, explained, or marked up with emoji or hashtags. It does that in more than 90 languages, and there are 10 tools in total, listed on the features page.

It ships in two places: a browser extension that works inside editable fields on websites, and a Telegram chatbot. A web application has been announced and is not available; nothing in these terms is a commitment to ship it or to ship it by any date.

3. Your account

In the browser extension you sign in with Google. In the Telegram chatbot your Telegram account signs you in automatically. There is no FixMeBot password, which means there is nothing for you to protect beyond the Google and Telegram accounts themselves. Keep those secure, because anything done through them is treated as done by you.

You must be at least [Minimum age] to use FixMeBot. One account is for one person; do not share it or resell access to it.

Linking the two sides is optional and is done with the /subscription command in Telegram, using the same Google account you signed into the extension with. Once linked, one subscription and one character allowance cover both.

4. The free trial

Every new account gets 10,000 trial characters at no cost and with no card: 5,000 in the browser extension and 5,000 in the Telegram chatbot, counted separately so trying one does not consume the other.

Every tool is unlocked during the trial except Voice to Text. Only the text you send in is counted; the response is never charged, however long it is. The trial is per person, not per device. Creating extra accounts to renew it is not permitted.

5. Limits

One request may carry up to 15,000 characters in the browser extension and 4,096 characters in the Telegram chatbot. The Telegram figure is that platform's own ceiling on a single message, not one we add. Longer documents are handled by sending them a section at a time.

Paid plans carry a character allowance per billing period, and the cheaper plans additionally meter some tools by number of uses. The current allowances are on the pricing page and are part of these terms. We may apply reasonable rate limits to keep the service available for everyone.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use FixMeBot to submit or generate:

• hateful content, harassment, or content that incites violence against a person or a group;
• adult or sexually explicit content;
• content that is illegal where you are, or that infringes someone else's rights;
• material you are contractually or professionally forbidden from disclosing to a third party;
• content designed to deceive: impersonation, fabricated reviews, or text presented as someone else's.

You also agree not to:

• automate, script or bulk-drive the extension or the bot beyond ordinary personal use, or resell access to either;
• attempt to bypass the character limits, the allowance meter or the trial;
• reverse-engineer, decompile or repackage the extension, except where the law says you may.

Two practical notes that are advice rather than rules: send one language per message, because a mixed-language passage gives the model conflicting signals, and give it a whole sentence rather than a three-word fragment, because there is otherwise not enough context to correct it well.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks this section. Where the breach is not serious we will normally say so first.

7. Plans, billing and renewal

Paid plans run from €4.99 to €29.99 per month. Paying for a year costs 10 months rather than 12 and raises the character allowance. The pricing page is the authoritative list of plans, prices and allowances at any given moment.

Payment is taken by [Payment processor]. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price then published for your plan, until you cancel. If a price changes, the new price applies from your next renewal and not retroactively.

If a payment fails, access to paid features may pause until it succeeds. Your account and your linked platforms are not deleted because of a failed payment.

8. Cancelling and refunds

Cancel at any time, from either side: open the browser extension's settings, or send /subscription to the Telegram chatbot. Both let you switch tier or cancel outright, and because the two platforms share one subscription, doing it in either place does it for both.

A cancelled plan keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that the account stays, and reverts to whatever free allowance is available.

Statutory rights to withdraw from a purchase or to a refund, where they exist, depend on [Jurisdiction] and on the consumer law where you live. Nothing in these terms removes a right you have that cannot be contracted away. If you think you were charged wrongly, write to contact@fixmebot.com. That is faster than a chargeback and usually settles it.

9. The output is a suggestion

What FixMeBot returns is a suggestion, and you are responsible for what you send. Read the result before it goes anywhere that matters. This is not a formality: the tools read the whole sentence and are accurate far more often than not, but they are language models and they can be confidently wrong about a fact, a name, a legal term or a number.

In particular, FixMeBot does not provide legal, medical, financial or immigration advice, and a translation it produces is not a certified or sworn translation. Have a qualified human check any document that has to be exact: a contract, a diagnosis, a filing, a submission with a deadline.

The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that a result will be correct, complete, or suitable for a particular purpose.

10. Availability and changes

We do not promise a level of uptime. FixMeBot depends on third parties: the model providers, Telegram, the browser vendors and the extension stores. An outage or a policy change at any of them can interrupt the service.

Tools may be added, changed or withdrawn, and the underlying models change over time, which means the same input may not produce a byte-identical result on two different days. If we withdraw something you are paying for, we will say so before the change takes effect.

11. Your text, our software

You keep whatever rights you have in the text you send and in the result you get back. We claim no ownership of either, do not sell your content, and do not use it to train our models. Whether machine-assisted output attracts copyright at all is a question of law that varies, and is decided by [Jurisdiction] rather than by us.

The extension, the chatbot, this website, the FixMeBot name and the FixMeBot mark remain ours. Using the service gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use it, and nothing more.

You confirm that you have the right to send the text you send, either because it is yours or because you are permitted to process it.

12. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit or lost opportunity, or for the consequences of text you chose to send after FixMeBot suggested it.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for FixMeBot in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited in [Jurisdiction], including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of [Jurisdiction], and any dispute is subject to the courts of [Jurisdiction]. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules in the country where you live.

If a clause of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the unenforceable clause is read down to the narrowest form that works.

14. Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes with them. Continuing to use FixMeBot after a change means the updated terms apply. A change that materially reduces what you get for what you pay will be announced before it takes effect, so that you can cancel first.
