Transcription and cleanup are two different jobs

A raw transcript is faithful to the audio, which is exactly what makes it unusable:

so um basically the client wants the client wants the whole thing moved to next quarter and uh they said budget is fine yeah

Nothing in that is inaccurate. Nobody can send it. Cleanup does three separate things:

• Removes fillers (um, uh, like, you know), repeated restarts, and the abandoned half of a sentence you began twice.
• Adds what speech does not have: sentence boundaries, capitalisation and paragraph breaks. Where one sentence ends is a judgement made from rhythm and grammar, and it is the largest difference between a transcript and prose.
• Keeps what you decided: your qualifications, your numbers, your names and the order you said them in.

A spoken draft is a different draft

People speak far faster than they type, and in longer clauses, so spoken text is usually longer, warmer and less structured than what you would have typed. It contains the reasoning you would have skipped, which is sometimes exactly what the message needed and sometimes twice the length it should be.

So Voice to Text pairs with the other tools rather than replacing them: speak the draft, then run Length Adjustment to cut it to size, Paraphrasing to set the register, or Translation to send it in the recipient's language. In Telegram that is simply the next message, on the same text.

Names, acronyms and the room you are in

Speech recognition has the least to work with exactly where you care most: proper nouns, product names and acronyms do not appear in ordinary language, so there is nothing to predict them from. Four habits fix most of it:

• Spell an unusual name once, out loud, the first time you say it.
• Say the punctuation that changes the meaning, such as “new paragraph” or “question mark”, rather than relying on intonation to carry it.
• Avoid a second voice, not noise. Background speech is competing signal rather than interference, so a café costs you more than traffic does.
• Finish your sentences. A sentence abandoned halfway has no boundary to find, and it is the one case cleanup genuinely handles badly.

If a name still comes back wrong, fix it in the text before you run anything else on it: every later tool treats the transcript as the source of truth.

Telegram only, and outside the free trial

Voice to Text runs in the Telegram chatbot, not the browser extension, because the extension acts on selected text and no selection contains audio. It is also the one tool excluded from the free trial. The 10,000 trial characters unlock every other tool, but not this one.
